The brief
Pages and sections Kingsley asked for
Navigation
ucesco.org/- Fundraising Resources is a top-level link, as Kingsley asked, not hidden in a dropdown.
- Compact $ / € switcher and a clear Sponsor button beside Donate.
Homepage
ucesco.org/- Counters now show the official figures straight from the CMS, with a short note under each: 31 communities (Kenya & Uganda), 79,773 direct beneficiaries (since 2010), 7 free medical camps (5 annual · 2 mini), 1,329 international volunteers.
- The counters no longer start at zero and stay blank on slow phones.
- New "For donors & partners" panel linking to Fundraising Resources and the key documents.
Fundraising Resources
ucesco.org/fundraising-resources- New page for foundations, companies and donors: organisational profile, brochures, audited financial statements and impact evidence in one place.
- Documents come from the CMS, so the team can add or replace them without a developer.
Downloads
ucesco.org/downloads- All documents organised into the 8 requested categories, with counts.
- Each card shows the type, year, file size and a clear download button. Managed in the CMS.
Education & Scholarships
ucesco.org/programs/education- 396 students supported 2022–2026, broken down by year (27 · 17 · 36 · 90 · 226).
- "Download Scholarship Brochure (PDF)" button, and "Make a Difference Today" further down the page.
- Schools and colleges shown with their logos in one grid. The list is edited in the CMS.
Partnerships
ucesco.org/partnerships- Ways to partner, the US 501(c)(3) note (EIN 33-4572949) and a due-diligence pack of key documents.
Impact reports
ucesco.org/impact- Annual and impact reports listed from the CMS, with direct downloads.
Contact offices
ucesco.org/contact- Offices in the requested order: Nairobi first, then Mombasa, Samburu and Uganda, with the US office (501(c)(3), EIN 33-4572949) shown in its own card.
About & History
ucesco.org/about/history- Milestones corrected to the official timeline: founded in Rwanda in 2010, registered in Kenya in 2014, US 501(c)(3) in 2025.
- The About page now reads "Our Impact Since 2010", with figures from the CMS.
Get Involved
ucesco.org/get-involved- Impact figures now use direct beneficiaries, scholarship students and international volunteers.
Part 1
Search & analytics
Google indexes ucesco.org, not staging
ucesco.org/sitemap.xml- Every page tells Google its one true address on ucesco.org.
- The sitemap lists all 48 pages on ucesco.org. Before the update it listed staging.ucesco.org addresses.
- staging.ucesco.org is hidden from search and redirects visitors to the main site. The CMS editor stays at staging.ucesco.org/admin and the dashboard at ucesco.org/admin/dashboard.
- Search Console is verified through a DNS record on ucesco.org.
| Address | Result today |
|---|---|
| ucesco.org/sitemap.xml | 48 pages, all on ucesco.org |
| ucesco.org/robots.txt | Points Google to the sitemap |
| staging.ucesco.org | Redirects to ucesco.org, marked "do not index" |
| staging.ucesco.org/admin | CMS editor works as before |

How pages appear in search results
ucesco.org/contact- Page titles no longer repeat "UCESCO Africa" twice. Before, pages like Fundraising Resources showed as "Fundraising Resources | UCESCO Africa | UCESCO Africa".
- 17 of the 26 main pages now have descriptions of 160 characters or fewer, so Google shows them in full.
- The other 9 are the priority pages (Home, Donate, Sponsor, Volunteer, Partnerships, Fundraising Resources, Medical Camps, Education, Women Empowerment). They get new search-focused titles and descriptions in the priority-page rewrite.

Preview built from the live title and description of each page.
Breadcrumbs and article data for Google
ucesco.org/programs/education- Programme pages, blog posts and impact stories show a breadcrumb trail (Home › Programs › Education).
- The same trail, plus article details for blog posts and stories, is sent to Google so results can show the page path and publish date.
Umami analytics at analytics.ucesco.org
analytics.ucesco.org- Self-hosted, so visitor data stays on UCESCO's own server.
- Tracks visits, pages and sources, plus Donate and Sponsor clicks, document downloads, form sends, checkout starts and completed payments with the amount.
- Session replays and heatmaps are on. Payment and card forms are masked and never recorded.
- Tracking started today, so the figures are still small.
Payment pages fixed
ucesco.org/payment/success- Success, pending and failed pages now show the right message for donations, sponsorships and bookings, with the amount.
- Before, sponsors saw the donation message, amounts were missing and payment errors were not shown.
Part 2
Speed & content
Faster pages on phones
- Measured on a slow 4G phone connection, before and after the update.
| Page | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| Homepage | 12.9 s · 2.28 MB | 3.6 s · 1.01 MB |
| Medical camps | 4.7 s | 2.4 s |
| Fundraising Resources | 5.8 s | 2.9 s |
| Volunteer | 6.8 s | 3.4 s |
| Impact | 6.0 s | 4.1 s |
Lighter images and video
ucesco.org/programs/medical-camps- Banner photos come in four sizes, so a phone downloads about 100 KB instead of the 280 KB desktop photo.
- The homepage slider loads the first photo straight away and the rest only when needed.
- YouTube videos show a thumbnail and load only when someone presses play.
- The Volunteer page plays a 1.9 MB video on phones and a 3.0 MB video on larger screens.
- Footer maps load only when someone scrolls down to them.
Smaller PDFs
ucesco.org/downloads- All eight documents were compressed and replaced in the CMS. The originals are kept in the CMS media library.
| Document | Before | Now |
|---|---|---|
| Organisational Profile | 20.6 MB | 4.0 MB |
| 2025 Financial Audit Report | 14.9 MB | 1.6 MB |

| 2024 Financial Audit Report | 2.6 MB | 0.7 MB |

US tax note for donors
ucesco.org/partnerships- Partnerships and Fundraising Resources now explain that UCESCO is a registered US 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 33-4572949), so US donations are tax-deductible.
Part C
Website review of 29 October
Every point from the website review PDF. Ready, not live yet: these screenshots come from a preview of the new version and go live once approved.
Header and menu
ucesco.org/- Search icon (magnifying glass) in the header, on every page and on phones.
- Programs and Projects merged into one menu: "Programs & Projects".
- Volunteer and Donate Now are the header buttons. Sponsor a Child moved into the Get Involved menu.
- The USD / EUR selector left the header. It now sits where people pay: the donation widget, the donation pop-up, the sponsorship packages, the child pages and checkout.
- Larger menu text.
Main actions
ucesco.org/- Donate Now and Volunteer are the two main buttons on the homepage. Sponsor a Child is the secondary link underneath.
Site search
ucesco.org/search- Searches the site pages plus blog posts, events, impact stories, volunteer opportunities and documents from the CMS.
- New content added in the CMS is found automatically.
Sponsorship packages match the brochure
ucesco.org/sponsor#packages- Basic $10 / €10, Smile $30 / €30 and Happy $50 / €50 a month, with the 6-month and 1-year prices, exactly as in the Adopt a Child at Distance brochures.
- Both brochures (Dalton School, Loosuk and Peggy Lucas Primary School, Kibera) use the same packages, so one price list applies to every child.
- Fixed, round prices per currency, as in the brochure: $30 is €30, not a converted €26.
- The brochure's "What your support makes possible" box and the sponsor update schedule are shown separately from the packages.
- Every price on the site comes from one list, so the packages, child pages, checkout, FAQ and Google description always agree.
Choosing a package for a child
ucesco.org/sponsor- Each child page now offers the three packages for 1 month, 6 months or 1 year, or a one-time gift.
- Checkout shows the chosen package and what it covers, and the price always comes from the package.
- Payments are charged in US dollars, because the payment gateway accepts dollars only. Before paying, sponsors see the exact dollar amount.
Donation widget
ucesco.org/sponsor- Amounts shown in full: €1,250 and €5,000, not "€1.1k" or "€4.3k".
- The "Other" field shows the selected currency instead of always saying USD.
- The widget has its own currency selector.
Child cards
ucesco.org/sponsor#children- No more "≈" approximate prices. Each card shows how far the child is funded, as a percentage, and the starting package price.
Promises aligned with the packages
ucesco.org/sponsor- "Healthcare" and "they can write back to you" are no longer promised anywhere on the sponsorship pages, because no package includes them.
- The FAQ now matches the brochure: package prices, the update schedule and the thank-you letter.
Credibility and data
ucesco.org/sponsor- The five alumni testimonials that shared one photo were placeholders. They are removed. Only real alumni entered in the CMS are shown, each with their own photo.
- 95% complete education and 92% gain employment, as confirmed by Kingsley. A new CMS field adds the source (report and year) under the figures as soon as it is entered.
- The third figure now reads Direct Beneficiaries, with an accurate description.
- 80% of donations go to programmes and 20% to administration, stated the same way on every page.
Tax-deductible: which country
ucesco.org/donate- Donate, Get Involved and Sponsor pages now say donations are tax-deductible in the United States, through UCESCO's registered 501(c)(3) (EIN 33-4572949). Donors in other countries, including in Europe, are asked to check their local rules.
Technical fixes
ucesco.org/sponsor- The "Sponsor a Child Today" button at the bottom of the Sponsor page now goes to the children instead of nowhere.
- The safeguarding button pointed to a page that does not exist. It now asks visitors to request the policy through the contact page.
- On phones, the Volunteer page was wider than the screen and pushed the menu button out of view. Fixed.
On a phone
- The same sections at phone width (390 px). Everything stacks into one column with no sideways scrolling.
